Ranthambore Weekend Package

Description
Ranthambhore is famous for its tigers. The majestic predators
roam here freely and can be seen at close quarters, hunting
and taking care of their young. It covers an area of 392 sq
km and is set between the Aravalli and Vindhya ranges, comprising
of dry deciduous forest. The terrain is rugged and there are
rocky ridges, hills and open valleys with lakes and pools. A
system of three pretty artificial lakes besides enhancing the
beauty of the park, offers a very good opportunity of viewing
wildlife - congregating to drink water and crocodiles basking
in the sun. Ranthambhore has large numbers of sambar, chital,
and nilgai. Safaris are undertaken here in open jeeps.
Best Time To Visit
Although the park remains opens from October through to
June, the best time to visit is during the winters-from November
to February. Tigers are frequently sighted in the park but sightings
are almost guaranteed during March and April.
Activities
You can book a jungle safari with the forest department or with
the resort you would be staying at. The safaris last three hours
and are conducted twice a day early morning and evening. Since
traffic is regulated inside the park, only a specific number
of vehicles are allowed on any one of the four trails at any
given time. The park offers excellent opportunities to a photographer
to shoot the varied wildlife.
Places Nearby
Surwal Lake is at a distance of around 25 kms from Ranthambhore
and is a bird watchers dream. In the winter months, from November
to March, the lake is home to a huge number of migratory birds.
