Description
Coonoor is un-crowded little hill station in the Nilgiris. Radiant
with tea plantations, gardens and flowers, Coonoor has an unpolluted,
unhurried grace, making it quite the place for a peaceful sojourn.
Though the town has traditionally been over shadowed by big
brother and popular neighbor Ooty, Coonoor is definitely less
commercialized and has a more predictable climate.

Activities
Stop by at the market in Lower Coonoor and admire the old-fashioned
bungalows in Upper Coonoor with lattice windows, red tiled roofs,
manicured lawns and rose bushes. Sim's Park in Upper Coonoor
is a beautifully landscaped garden in the middle of a ravine.
A profusion of trees, flowers, shrubs and ferns pepper the woods,
right down to the lake at the bottom of the ravine.
Places Nearby
This popular hill station lies 19 kms away and has several points
of tourist interest including the Botanical gardens and a lovely
lake where one can go boating. Trekking trails abound in this
area and so do opportunities for horse riding.
