Description
Often called the 'Dev Bhoomi' or the land of the Gods, Rishikesh
is cut into two halfs by the Ganges river. Long known as a pilgrimage
centre with lots of Temples, Ashrams and abode of worshipping
sadhus, rafting in the white water of Ganga near Rishikesh has
added another dimension to this holy city. Rishikesh also serves
as a gateway to religious places like Gangotri, Yamunotri, Badrinath,
Kedarnath and treatment centre for various stress related ailments
with it's Yoga and herbal remedies.

Activities
Ranikhet is the starting point for a number of exciting treks
into the Himalayas and if you are not much into trekking and
adventure, try golf. Ranikhet has a splendidly maintained 9-hole
golf course with a magnificent view of the mountain slopes.
So put on your golfing shoes or your walking boots and make
tracks to Ranikhet.
Places Nearby
Almora is 50 kms west of Ranikhet and is a lovely hillstation
with beautiful remains of the Raj.
