An
evergreen hill station, Kodaikanal is tucked away in the
Palani Hills of the Western Ghats and is blessed with
balmy weather throughout the year, barring a few wet months
in winter. A great getaway from the sweltering heat of
Chennai or Bangalore, Kodaikanal is remarkably beautiful,
surrounded by verdant green forests on all side.

is best known for the Aurobindo Ashram set up by the Mother,
a disciple of Shree Aurobindo, and nearby, Auroville an
avant garde organisation that experiments with international
community living and yoga and meditation as a path to
salvation. The serene and beautiful samadhis (memorials)
to the Mother and Shree Aurobindo are popular tourist
spots.

Hills in Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh, receives
more than 40,000 pilgrims on any given day and the town
